Memorial Hermann Hospital was looking for something to recognize the addition of the Susan and Fayez Sarofim Pavilion to the Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center campus at its topping out ceremony in Sept. 2018. Upon completion in 2020, the 17-story Pavilion will provide the space and technology needed to meet the area’s growing critical care needs. The addition will also contain a new hybrid trauma OR. The goal was to have something prestigious to memorialize the occasion. They reached out to their team at Brand IQ to come up with concepts that would not only signify the new build, but would be a well perceived gift to ceremony attendees.
Solutions
Brand IQ wanted to provide something unique for such a momentous occasion, so we suggested a handcrafted metal piece, called the “Ticket”, that was to be die-cast to showcase the campus skyline with the new building addition. This item would then be displayed using a small stand. This product was thought to be versatile in that it could be used on peoples’ desk, with or without the stand, but was also sleek enough to be displayed in recipients’ homes.
Results
The “Ticket” was distributed to attendees at the ceremony and was well received by all. The piece was appreciated because of its uniqueness and those recipients felt honored to have been given such a high quality, handcrafted item. Not only did it mark the present growth, it allowed guests to see the future skyline of the campus.
